First United Methodist Church of Barnesville is a vibrant and exciting community of faith in the heart of Barnesville, Ohio.  You can find us at 123 W. Church St. (at the corner of N. Broadway) and we invite you to join us for worship on Sunday morning or for any of our many ministry events.



Sunday - Sunday at 9:30 is a time for children, youth and adults to attend classes for friendship, community, prayer and study.  At 10:30 we gather together for worship in the sanctuary where we connect to the life of the church, sing, pray, share our joys and concerns and enjoy the music from one or more of our vocal ensemble, bell choir, piano and organ and occasionally, special music.  During this time we will also hear a message from our pastor that connects today's issues to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ministries - Our congregation is involved in the Barnesville community in many ways.

Our Men's group (often joined by men from other local congregations) meets when needed to work on small construction projects and to make repairs at the homes of folks who are unable to undertake these projects for themselves. 

The ladies of Hearts In Service plan for several months each year for their annual coat giveaway each fall which provides warm clothing for a great many of our less fortunate neighbors and friends both young and old.  They also are responsible for coordinating several of the hospitality ministries of our church.


We often make our large church kitchen available to community groups for a variety of reasons and so, at times you may find anyone from the Girl Scouts to the local football team busily at work in our fellowship hall.

Periodically we offer special Bible studies relating to topics of interest to the community such as finance, budgeting, understanding grief, and others.

Our media ministries include those who operate our sound system (currently being upgraded) and video camera on Sunday mornings.  We hope that you will "LIKE" our Facebook Page, and visit the Journey with Wesley.  Our church publishes a monthly newsletter (click here) to keep everyone up to date on the latest activities of our members and upcoming church events.  Who knows what else we can do with your help!


From time to time, members of our congregation partner with other United Methodist congregations for a variety of training events, work projects, mission trips, musical events, youth events, and other things.  we also work throughout the year with the Barnesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) to host a weekly community swim during the summer, offer a community Vacation Bible School and host an annual Tent Revival.

The people of First United Methodist Church of Barnesville are committed to following the teachings of Jesus Christ and that includes being actively involved in our church, in our community, and in our world.
